🌟 Getting to Know You

What’s one fun fact your colleagues might not know about you?

"I spend as much time talking to cows when not in work as I do people, although I think most people at Buckhurst will know that by now!"

What’s your favourite way to start the day?

"A quick brew in the morning and then catching up with the depot to make sure all the kit’s gone out and everything is running as smoothly as possible."

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be?

"Mind reading! It would make life a lot easier sometimes."

What’s your go-to brew order?

"Pretty standard really – a caramel latte if I’m out and about. In the office, it’s just a coffee or a tea with milk and two sugars!"

🏗️ Your Role at Buckhurst

What does a typical day look like in your role?

"I wouldn’t say I’ve ever had a typical day! Every day is different. It can be anything from speaking with customers and suppliers, helping the team solve problems, sorting transport, planning new investments, visiting sites or looking at ways we can improve the business. No two days are ever the same, and that’s one of the things I enjoy most."

What do you enjoy most about working at Buckhurst?

"The buzz of being busy, solving problems and watching the business grow. We’ve built some great relationships with customers who trust us to get the job done and we’ve got a fantastic team that always pulls together when the pressure turns on."

What achievement are you most proud of in your role so far?

"I think the growth we’ve achieved over the last five years is something to be really proud of. We’ve doubled in size and built a great group of companies. None of that would have been possible without our loyal customers and the brilliant team we’ve got. It’s something I’m really proud to have been part of."

What’s one thing you think customers would be surprised to learn about your job?

"It surprises me sometimes, so I think customers would be amazed by just how much goes on behind the scenes. It’s incredibly fast-paced, and there is a huge amount of planning, teamwork and problem-solving involved just to make sure the right kit is in the right place at the right time."

What’s your biggest motivation?

"Seeing improvements around the depot and the business keeps me motivated. I want Buckhurst to have the best team possible, where everyone is proud to work here and for us to offer the best service we possibly can to our customers."

If you could swap roles with someone in the business for a day, who would it be and why?

"I’d swap roles with my dad in a heartbeat… stroll in whenever you want, change the plans and leave nice and early to get back out of the way! 😉 "
